Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Poyzan Cloud!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eliss Grov!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cloud fails with the takedown
and Grov counters with a right hand to the body.
Grov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cloud.
Grov leaves Cloud with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Cloud throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Grov lands a glancing blow to the side of Cloud's head.
It looks like Poyzan Cloud has been cut.
Grov lands with an uppercut that bounces Cloud off the cage and back into range.
Cloud misses with a takedown attempt
and Grov counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Grov has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Cloud is landing a low percentage of strikes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Poyzan Cloud. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cloud shoots in looking for a takedown but Grov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cloud's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cloud shoots in looking for a takedown. Grov tries to sprawl out of it but Cloud keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Grov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Donk. Grov catches Cloud right on the button with a cross.
Cloud tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Grov swivels and escapes.
Grov looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Grov walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Cloud drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Grov swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Cloud's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eliss Grov!
