Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mattias Sundquist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Nielsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mattias Sundquist! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucas Nielsen! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sundquist closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Sundquist seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Nielsen is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sundquist scores with a couple of nice shots. Sundquist has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sundquist is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Sundquist trying to control but Nielsen is having none of it. Sundquist breaks from Nielsen's wrist control and lands an elbow. Nielsen is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nielsen's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Sundquist tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Sundquist can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nielsen is looking to escape. Nielsen throwing hammer fists to the chest of Sundquist. What's that going to do exactly? Sundquist landing strikes from the mount. Sundquist controlling the pace for now. Sundquist looking to secure an arm triangle but Nielsen defends it well.

The referee warns Nielsen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Sundquist tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Nielsen tries to reverse the position but Sundquist maintains control. Sundquist landing strikes from the mount and Nielsen is in trouble! Sundquist with good strikes from the mount here! Nielsen regains half guard. Sundquist lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mattias Sundquist dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Sundquist moves in looking to clinch but Nielsen pushes him off. Nielsen scores with a jab to the jaw. Sundquist misses with a takedown attempt - Nielsen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Sundquist moves into the clinch. Nielsen lands a damaging elbow. Sundquist pulls guard successfully.

Nielsen is desperately trying to improve his position but Sundquist has a good base and remains in mount. Nielsen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Sundquist cracks Nielsen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Nielsen is breathing heavily. Sundquist unloading with bombs! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sundquist controlling his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nielsen throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Sundquist controlling from the full mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sundquist's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Nielsen tries to reverse the position but Sundquist maintains control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Sundquist controlling his opponent. Nielsen throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Nielsen can't escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sundquist fails with the takedown. Mattias Sundquist is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nielsen connects with a jab. Sundquist shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mattias Sundquist. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nielsen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sundquist swats him away and circles back towards the center. Sundquist throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nielsen's waist but Nielsen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sundquist off to one side. Nielsen pushes Sundquist up against the cage in a clinch. The referee calls for Nielsen to work.
Nielsen lands a nice knee to the body. Nielsen connects with a knee to the head.
Nielsen creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Sundquist's defenses. Nice body punch from Sundquist - that landed with a thud.

Sundquist is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Nielsen gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Nielsen creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Sundquist tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Nielsen throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Sundquist blocks it with crossed arms. Sundquist avoids a wild elbow strike from Nielsen. Sundquist is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Nielsen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sundquist.

Nielsen is pressed up against the cage. Sundquist has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Nielsen down to the mat. Nielsen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Sundquist wants to clinch up but Nielsen keeps it at a distance. Horrible takedown by Sundquist or perhaps it was just good defense by Nielsen which made him look bad. Nielsen has closed the distance and engaged Sundquist in a clinch.

A close second round but Lucas Nielsen will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Nielsen is looking to clinch. Nielsen tries to clinch and Sundquist decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nielsen's guard. Sundquist stopping the sweep attempt from Nielsen. Nielsen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Sundquist is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Sundquist passes Nielsen's left leg - he's now in half guard. Mattias Sundquist overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sundquist prevents Nielsen from standing back up.

Sundquist slows the pace down in half guard. Sundquist is keen to just control but Nielsen is a slippery customer. Sundquist wants to pass to mount but Nielsen is defending the position. Sundquist is looking to take a break and control but Nielsen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nielsen striking from the bottom. Sundquist is working for a kimura but Nielsen is defending it quite comfortably.
Nielsen flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nielsen pushes Sundquist off looking to stand but Sundquist dives back in and keeps control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sundquist shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nielsen as he jumps to the side. Nielsen drives through and clinches with Sundquist against the cage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nielsen pushes Sundquist up against the cage in a clinch. Sundquist is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Nielsen can't fight it off and eventually Sundquist manages to take the fight to the floor. Nielsen looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Sundquist lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Sundquist slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that's the end of the fight! Mattias Sundquist showed his dominance in that final round. I think Sundquist has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
