Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Walay Buut (ranked 23469 p4p, 23508 weight class) and Dawindi Buktot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 78 - 65 - 9, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walay Buut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 56 - 87 - 8, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dawindi Buktot!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Buut defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Buktot.
Buut quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Buktot avoids the body shot from Buut.
Buktot shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Buut sprawls well. Buut wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Buktot gets slowly back to his feet.
Buut appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Buut moves out of range of the body kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Buut gets a takedown into half guard.
Buut missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Buut is controlling the pace.
Buktot controlling the position well.

Buut seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Buktot wants to control but Buut passes into side.
Buut happy to just control the position for now.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Buut has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Buktot can't do much from the bottom here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Nice takedown defense from Buktot. No joy for Buut on that attempt.
Buktot is trying to counter with his kicks.
Buut blocks the body kick.
Buktot looks to land a body kick but Buut moved away.
Buut slaps away a takedown attempt from Buktot, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Buktot just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromBuut.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!

Buut shoots in for a takedown but Buktot shows good takedown defense.

Buktot shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Buut is trying to defend but Buktot finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Buktot looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Buktot perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Buut is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Buut shoots in looking for a takedown but Buktot manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Buut's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Buut fails with a takedown attempt.
Buktot is trying to counter with his kicks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Walay Buut. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Buktot scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
You can see the frustration on Buut's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Buut keeping his opponent close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Buut tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Buktot wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dawindi Buktot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Buut throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Buktot's waist but Buktot gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Buut off to one side.

Buktot fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Buut to the ground. Buktot is now in Buut's guard.
Buktot seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Buut wants to stand but Buktot is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Buut has control of Buktot's left arm, preventing Buktot from doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Buktot wants to pass the guard but Buut is keeping the position.
Buktot postures up.
Buktot controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Buut looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Buut shoots in but Buktot avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Buktot gets caught napping as Buut dives in and scores a takedown. Buktot manages to retain guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Buktot has a closed guard, preventing Buut from standing up.
Buut content to stall in guard here.
Buktot seems keen to control Buut's posture.
Buut tries to free his leg and advance position but Buktot is retaining full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Buut trying to control the position from guard on top but Buktot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Buktot pulls Buut in to control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Buktot drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dawindi Buktot comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Buktot has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
