Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 20 - 1, fighting out of New York, Michael Fochi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Javon Jefferson!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Dean Styles and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fochi misses with an uppercut.
Fochi lands a right hook to the body.
Fochi looks to score with a jab to the body but Jefferson is just out of range.
Jefferson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Fochi defends it well.
Fochi looks to land a left hand but Jefferson moved out of range nicely.
Jefferson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Fochi throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Jefferson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Fochi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jefferson circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fochi throws a body shot but no joy.
Jefferson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Fochi goes for a double leg but Jefferson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jefferson continues to drive forward.
Jefferson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Fochi is looking for a takedown.

Fochi dives in and grabs Jefferson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jefferson pushes down on Fochi's head and hops out.

Fochi connects with a nice looking jab.
Fochi misses with a looping left.
Jefferson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Fochi defends it well.
Fochi throws a poor cross that misses

so Jefferson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Jefferson wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Fochi's closed guard. He's half up but Fochi has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Fochi pivots and extends the arm, Jefferson falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Fochi! Well done that man!
