Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Marquez (ranked 3874 p4p, 4010 weight class) and Thiago Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominic Marquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thiago Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marquez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mendes quickly recovers to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mendes manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Marquez trying to control the position from guard on top but Mendes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Marquez stands and throws Mendes's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Marquez throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Marquez tries to stand but Mendes is controlling his head.
Mendes prevents Marquez from moving into mount.
Mendes is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Marquez off and has taken his back!
Marquez is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at California Top Team, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Mendes has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Marquez! Can he survive? No! He's out! Mendes gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
