Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Pawlowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Anderson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to DMX- Party Up. Alex Pawlowski has the eye of the tiger tonight.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Anderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Pawlowski! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pawlowski closes the distance and pushes Anderson back into the cage. Anderson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Anderson lands an elbow inside that Pawlowski shrugs off. Anderson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Anderson tries to clinch there but Pawlowski circles away.
Anderson wants to clinch. Anderson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pawlowski defends it nicely. Anderson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pawlowski pinned against the cage. Pawlowski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Anderson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pawlowski's guard. Anderson wants to control from the top but Pawlowski keeps moving. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pawlowski can do anything to dispel that myth. Pawlowski is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pawlowski looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Pawlowski throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Anderson escapes and throws Pawlowski's legs to the side, diving into side control! Anderson slows the pace down. Anderson has knee on belly momentarily but Pawlowski bucks him off and regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Anderson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Pawlowski. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Anderson in particular looking to stall. Pawlowski wants to improve his position but Anderson is controlling well.
Pawlowski is looking to control Anderson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pawlowski avoid being mounted? Pawlowski lands with a few short shots to the body. Pawlowski is controlling Anderson's trapped leg to prevent Anderson from advancing to side control.

Pawlowski tries to lock up and control but Anderson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Anderson lands a big shot there that rocks Pawlowski but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Pawlowski looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Anderson trying to control from half guard but Pawlowski is working away. Anderson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pawlowski is just riding it out for now. Anderson eventually gives up the hold. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pawlowski is trying to maintain the position but Anderson is very close to passing his half guard. Pawlowski lands with a nice body kick. Pawlowski shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Anderson sprawls well. Anderson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pawlowski gets slowly back to his feet. Alex Pawlowski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pawlowski is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Anderson. Anderson wants to sweep here but Pawlowski controlling him for the moment. Anderson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pawlowski is controlling him. Pawlowski gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Pawlowski fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Anderson sprawls well initially but Pawlowski persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Pawlowski not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Pawlowski is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Anderson reverses the position - he's now on top in Pawlowski's guard. Pawlowski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Anderson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Anderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Pawlowski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pawlowski has a closed guard, preventing Anderson from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pawlowski has his feet on Anderson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Pawlowski shoots in and bounces Anderson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Pawlowski looking to sit in guard and control but Anderson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Pawlowski keeping full guard, as Anderson tries to pass. Anderson won't allow Pawlowski to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pawlowski is keeping the position for now. Anderson advances position into side control! Pawlowski is trying to work for a sweep but Anderson has mounted him! Anderson prevents Pawlowski from getting the reversal. Pawlowski wants to control but Anderson is having none of it. Pawlowski is trying desperately to improve position. Pawlowski sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Anderson looking for a sweep. Not yet Anderson, not yet. Anderson is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Anderson has momentary wrist control but Pawlowski slips an elbow through the middle. Pawlowski is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Anderson keeping moving, preventing Pawlowski from controlling successfully. Pawlowski gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Pawlowski lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Pawlowski throws a right and a left that Anderson avoids nicely. Pawlowski throws a right hand that Anderson ducks under and follows up with a left that Anderson also avoids with ease. Anderson moves into the clinch successfully.
