Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Silvio Costa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruslan Kornilov!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Costa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kornilov sprawls well initially but Costa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Costa controlling the action here.
Costa landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Costa is thwarting Kornilov's attempts to control the position.
Costa throwing shots but Kornilov is blocking nicely.
Kornilov looks like he's trying to stand up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Costa content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Kornilov wants to improve his position but Costa is controlling well.

Costa seems to be working for a kimura but Kornilov defends the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Costa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Well, if Costa is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Costa bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Costa shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kornilov looks like he's trying to stand up.

Costa is working for a submission of some sort.
Kornilov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kornilov is trying to maintain the position but Costa is very close to passing his half guard.
Costa slips a nice elbow through Kornilov's hands, connecting with Kornilov's forehead.
Costa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Costa passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kornilov!

Costa wants to control the pace but Kornilov is squirming around nicely.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Kornilov doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Costa counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Costa has hold of one of Kornilov's legs. Kornilov is fighting the takedown attempt but Costa gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Kornilov wants to sweep but no luck.
Costa working some strikes from top position.
Costa is in close to Kornilov's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kornilov is trying to hold Costa in close to prevent damage but Costa has managed to pass into half guard.
Costa passes the guard and advances to mount!

Kornilov takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Kornilov tries to lock up and control but Costa gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Costa is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kornilov can do to turn this around?
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Costa cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Kornilov is working to get back to half guard.
Costa lands a big shot there that rocks Kornilov but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Kornilov is rocked!
Costa loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Kornilov scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Costa land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Costa stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Silvio Costa!
