Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Go Kaneko (ranked 3392 p4p, 2070 weight class) and Jon Ibarra (ranked 349 p4p, 227 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Go Kaneko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Ibarra! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Ben Hemmingworth.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ibarra scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Kaneko ducks under a wild hook from Ibarra. Ibarra throws a big shot that misses. Kaneko misses the jab. Kaneko lands a right hook to the body.
Ibarra throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kaneko. Ibarra takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Ibarra just misses with a punch to the body.
A little feinted left hand from Kaneko on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Kaneko slips under a jab from Ibarra. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kaneko gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ibarra. Ibarra blocks a jab. Kaneko definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Ibarra lands a leg kick that knocks Kaneko off balance momentarily. Kaneko throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Ibarra connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Kaneko throws an overhand right that lands on Ibarra's shoulder, as Ibarra tries to avoid the shot. A big left from Ibarra misses. Kaneko moves out of range of the body kick. Kaneko seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Kaneko throws a lazy uppercut
letting Ibarra counter with a right hand. Ibarra bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Ibarra looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kaneko moves into the clinch. Kaneko is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Ibarra lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kaneko backwards. Kaneko lands a nice elbow.
 It looks like Jon Ibarra has been cut. A short right from Kaneko. Kaneko lands an elbow that stopped Ibarra in his tracks for a moment. Ibarra avoids the elbow strike from Kaneko, against the cage.
Kaneko lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Ibarra backwards.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kaneko lands with a short shot to the head. A shot in the inside from Kaneko. Kaneko scores with a shot to the side of Ibarra's head. Ibarra takes an elbow to the temple. Kaneko lands a damaging elbow.
 Ibarra is rocked! Clinched against the cage, Kaneko lands a big elbow that drops Ibarra! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Ibarra is complaining that he's OK but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Go Kaneko! Go Kaneko decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
