Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ben Asskren (ranked 4120 p4p, 5209 weight class) and Makar Yudin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ben Asskren has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Asskren! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Makar Yudin! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yudin wants to clinch. Asskren seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Makar Yudin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Asskren rushes Yudin and presses him up against the cage. Yudin looking to stall.
Asskren tries to pull guard but Yudin holds him up against the cage and eventually Asskren drops back down to his feet.
Asskren breaks the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Asskren closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Yudin's guard. Yudin wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Asskren manages to pass to side control.
Asskren throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Asskren frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Asskren is landing with some decent strikes but Yudin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Asskren controlling from mount.
Asskren stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Makar Yudin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Asskren closes the distance and clinches. Yudin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Asskren manages to break the clinch.
Yudin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Asskren paws at him with a jab and circles away. Yudin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Yudin moves in looking to clinch but Asskren pushes him off. Asskren slips under a jab.
 That's two minutes gone in the round.
Asskren closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Yudin quickly recovers to half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Asskren looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Yudin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Asskren is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Yudin defends it well. Asskren perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Asskren lands strikes from half guard. Yudin is looking to improve his position.
Asskren is taking a breather. Yudin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Asskren landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Asskren stands up out of the half guard. Asskren walks into a jab.
Yudin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Asskren to score an easy takedown into full guard. Asskren is in close to Yudin's body, working some short punches and elbows. Asskren is pushing down on Yudin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Yudin is fighting to maintain full guard but Asskren has managed to sneak the leg through. Yudin trying to control but Asskren postures up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Asskren in particular looking to stall.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Asskren passes to side control.
 The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Asskren decides to take the fight back to the feet. Yudin tries to clinch up. Asskren avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Asskren as Yudin tries to tie him up. Yudin is trying to maintain a safe position but Asskren gets an underhook and turns Yudin into the cage. Asskren jumps guard but Yudin stands there with Asskren around his waist. Asskren gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Asskren wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ben Asskren dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Yudin tries to clinch but Asskren is having none of it. Yudin moves in looking to clinch but Asskren pushes him off.
Asskren clinches up against the cage. Asskren is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Yudin can do to turn this around? Yudin is pressed up against the cage. Asskren has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Yudin down to the mat. Yudin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Asskren instigates a clinch. Asskren tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Yudin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Asskren manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Asskren darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Yudin tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Asskren manages to move to mount!
 That's one minute gone in the round. Asskren controlling from mount. Ben Asskren overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Yudin is looking to improve his position but Asskren isn't that keen on the idea. Asskren controlling the pace for now. Asskren has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Yudin tries to buck Asskren off but Asskren takes his back! Asskren controlling from the back.
Asskren is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Yudin has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Asskren keeps control of the position as Yudin tries to break free.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Yudin tries to escape but Asskren has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Asskren is riding his opponent, not letting Yudin buck him off. Asskren connects with a big shot to the side of Yudin's head.
Asskren is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Yudin trying to control the position but Asskren manages to sink in the hooks. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Asskren controls the position. You can see the frustration on Yudin's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ben Asskren dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Asskren scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Yudin bucks up and tries to throw Asskren off but instead Asskren has got his back! Asskren is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
