And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danielo Di Monteggi!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Di Monteggi takes one to the chin there.
Di Monteggi lands a lovely overhand right.
Di Monteggi throws a sloppy head kick and Crane moves out of range easily.
Di Monteggi is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Crane.

Crane is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Crane is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Crane on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Crane tries to get out of the position.

Di Monteggi has control of Crane's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Crane regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Di Monteggi is landing with some decent strikes but Crane is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Di Monteggi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Di Monteggi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Crane but Crane pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Di Monteggi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Crane's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Di Monteggi is looking for a choke. Crane gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Crane manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Di Monteggi thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Crane has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Di Monteggi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Crane manages to get himself to full guard.

Di Monteggi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Di Monteggi postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Crane is trying to control the position but Di Monteggi postures up.
Di Monteggi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Let's hope that Di Monteggi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Di Monteggi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Crane sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
It looked like Crane wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Danielo Di Monteggi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Di Monteggi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Di Monteggi lands in his opponent's guard.

Di Monteggi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Crane's guard.

Crane tries to lock up and control but Di Monteggi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The referee warns Crane that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
