Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ian Koning (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Kansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kansen has chosen Thunderstruck by AC/DC as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nigel Kansen! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kansen shoots in but no luck this time. Koning tries to clinch but Kansen moves out of range. Kansen keeps the fight on the outside. Kansen drives through with a takedown into guard. Kansen content to stall in guard here. Kansen stops Koning from standing up. Kansen wants to pass the guard but Koning is keeping the position. Kansen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Koning keeping full guard, as Kansen tries to pass. Kansen throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kansenis looking to pass into half guard but Koning pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Koning is in guard. Koning trying to control but Kansen is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. The fight stays on the outside here - Koning looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kansen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

No damage this time. Kansen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Koning is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kansen, into his guard. Kansen is pulling down on Koning's head. It's preventing any offense from Koning, at least for the moment. Koning tries to stand but Kansen is controlling from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kansen wants to hit a switch here but Koning passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kansen there! Koning avoids the attempt from Kansen to control. Kansen working to try and regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Koning tries to control but Kansen wriggling away. Koning tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Kansen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kansen is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kansen is trying to escape the mount.

A close second round but Nigel Kansen will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kansen scores a takedown into full mount! Koning tries to hold on but Kansen postures up. Kansen unloading with bombs! Kansen controlling from mount. Koning is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kansen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kansen won't let Koning get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Ian Koning has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nigel Kansen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kansen working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
