Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, hillbilly george! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Kerr! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kerr bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Kerr has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. george with a lazy takedown attempt and Kerr counters with a single leg into guard. george didn't expect that. Kerr pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. george is keeping the position for now. george is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kerr scoring with punches to the head and body. Kerr seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kerr is looking to work some ground and pound but george has wrist control. george trying to keep a closed guard but Kerr is proving a slippery customer.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. george trying to keep a closed guard but Kerr is proving a slippery customer.
george had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kerr is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. george Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kerr's back instead. george has the hooks in. Kerr is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards george.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Kerr preventing the rear naked choke attempt from george. george has the hooks in. Kerr is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. george is not going to allow Kerr to sit and survive in this position. Kerr defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. george wants to take his opponent's back but Kerr doesn't allow it. george tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. george landing strikes, looking to finish! george trying to control but he's not successful this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Kerr dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

george fails with the takedown and Kerr counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kerr. george wants a takedown but no success here.
Kerr has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed george clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Can george hold on?! Kerr is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
A lull in the action here.
Kerr is punishing george with strikes - can he finish him?! Kerr trying to control. Kerr looking to hold on to the position here but george rolls and ends up regaining guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kerr controlling from the top position. Kerr trying to control but george is working from the bottom. george bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kerr's guard. Kerr pulls george in close to prevent any damage.
Despite being in the dominant position, Matt Kerr just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kerr shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Kerr is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. george trying to control but Kerr postures up.
Kerr sitting and controlling from the half guard. Kerr prevents george from improving his position. Kerr wants to advance to full mount but george doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerr loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kerr stands up and waves to george to follow him. Kerr tries a head kick but it misses.
Matt Kerr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Excellent takedown into side control there by george. Kerr gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. george is trying to control the action in half guard but Kerr is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kerr flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Matt Kerr has got the better of the ground game so far. Kerr is trying to defend against the ground and pound but george scores with a couple of nice shots. Well, if george is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's four minutes gone in the round. george is trying to control. Kerr wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kerr is looking for a sweep. george is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. george trying to control from Kerr's half guard. Kerr has other ideas though and has regained full guard. george won't allow Kerr to sweep him here.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. george fails with the takedown and Kerr decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in george's guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for hillbilly george. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. george working a defensive guard here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. george tries to strike from the bottom.

Matt Kerr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
george shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Kerr misses with a takedown enabling george to counter with a crisp jab. george misses with a takedown attempt so Kerr counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kerr trying to control the position from guard on top but george is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kerr is pushing down on george's leg trying to pass to half guard. george is fighting to maintain full guard but Kerr has managed to sneak the leg through. Kerr with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Kerr with the ground and pound but george uses the opportunity to regain guard. george throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Kerr trying to control the position from guard on top but george is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are breathing heavily. george not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. george looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kerr wants to control from the top but george keeps moving. Kerr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. george is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kerr rolls with it to try and escape but george cranks on the arm and Kerr is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
