Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Poirier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Ezekiel Broomsdale! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Broomsdale forces Poirier back against the cage and clinches. Broomsdale lands a knee to the head.
 It looks like Nate Poirier has been cut. Poirier tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Broomsdale avoids it.
Broomsdale turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Broomsdale manages to end up in side control. Broomsdale staying calm. Poirier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Broomsdale on the ground. Poirier is pushing Broomsdale's head away, looking to escape. Broomsdale manages to hold on to the position though. Broomsdale is staying tight to Poirier's torso, preventing him from escaping. Poirier is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Poirier tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Well, with Broomsdale on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Poirier is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Poirier tries to escape the position.
Broomsdale has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Poirier. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Poirier is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Broomsdale.
Can Poirier hold on?! Broomsdale is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
 Poirier is rocked!
 That's one minute gone in the round. Broomsdale lands a series of strikes from the back and Poirier goes limp! The ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ezekiel Broomsdale! A relieved looking Ezekiel Broomsdale thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
