Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yangjo Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abel McGuire!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGuire darts in and clinches Kim up against the cage.
Kim is looking to take this one to the mat.
Kim takes a shot to the head.
McGuire utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Kim tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
McGuire tries to land a knee to the head but Kim blocks with his arms.
Kim jumps guard but McGuire turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yangjo Kim. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McGuire scores with a shoulder strike.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, McGuire creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A knee to the head by McGuire.
It looks like Yangjo Kim has been cut.
McGuire lands a left hand.
McGuire scores with a knee to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kim has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McGuire is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
McGuire connects with a nasty looking knee right to Kim's face.
Kim tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McGuire smiles and moves away.
Kim takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Kim is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
McGuire drops Kim with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kim looks back up at him and smiles so McGuire waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Kim is rocked!
McGuire circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Kim tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! McGuire wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Abel McGuire!
