Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yawa Kiang (ranked 23543 p4p, 23526 weight class) and Gakus Amiga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 51 - 97 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 65 - 78 - 9, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gakus Amiga!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Amiga gets caught napping as Kiang dives in and scores a takedown. Amiga manages to retain guard.

Amiga has his feet on Kiang's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Kiang scores with a takedown into Amiga's guard.
Amiga is controlling Kiang's posture.
Amiga's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Kiang sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Amiga will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Amiga has Kiang pulled in close to control his posture.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Amiga throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Amiga throws a body punch but Kiang moves out of range.

Amiga closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Amiga lands in his opponent's guard.
Kiang looking to control.

Amiga seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kiang is adopting a defensive guard.
Amiga throwing strikes but missing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Amiga's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Kiang working a defensive guard here.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kiang is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Kiang looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Kiang is standing up over Amiga. Amiga looks to escape but Kiang dives into side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Gakus Amiga will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Amiga pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Kiang appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Nice takedown defense from Kiang. No joy for Amiga on that attempt.
Amiga shoots in but Kiang avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kiang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Amiga looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kiang remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Amiga is trying to control Kiang's posture but Kiang avoids it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Amiga avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kiang.
Amiga can't do much from the bottom here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kiang remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kiang keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gakus Amiga.
Kiang shoots and misses
and Amiga counters with a nice body kick.
Kiang shoots for a double leg takedown but Amiga sprawls well. He's pushed Kiang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kiang closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kiang lands in his opponent's guard.
Amiga pulls Kiang in close to prevent any damage.
Kiang is stalling in the full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yawa Kiang dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Kiang motions for Amiga to come forward. Kiang throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kiang misses with a kick to the body

and Amiga counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kiang won't be happy with that.
Amiga content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amiga in the domination position with Kiang hanging on.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Amiga postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Amiga moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Amiga wants to control but Kiang is keeping him busy.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kiang wants to control but Amiga postures up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kiang manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Amiga on his heels. He'll look to pass Amiga's guard now, I'm sure.
Kiang not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Amiga is adopting a defensive guard.
Kiang looking to sit in guard and control but Amiga gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kiang being controlled here, momentarily.
Kiang is pulling down on Amiga's head. It's preventing any offense from Amiga, at least for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kiang controls Amiga momentarily but Amiga frees himself.
Amiga engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Amiga tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kiang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Amiga somewhat.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gakus Amiga comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Amiga has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
