Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Urijah Faber! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Who Hitme! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Faber looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Hitme is trying to stand up here but Faber is controlling him well. Faber is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hitme pushes Faber off looking to stand but Faber dives back in and keeps control.
Faber is looking to advance position but Hitme won't allow it. Hitme tries to roll over but Faber keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hitme missing with punches from the bottom.
Hitme manages to get to full guard.
Faber wants to control from the top but Hitme keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hitme fails with the takedown and Faber counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Faber looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Hitme is trying to stand.
Faber missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Faber wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hitme keeps working. Hitme is pressing down on Faber's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Hitme wants to stand but Faber is controlling the position. Faber preventing the sweep. Faber wants to pass the guard but Hitme is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Faber shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Faber wants to control from the top but Hitme keeps moving. Faber is breathing heavily. Faber is stalling in the full guard. Faber trying to control but Hitme is working from the bottom. Hitme is trying to control the position but Faber postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Faber stopping the sweep attempt from Hitme. Faber slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Faber tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hitme gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Faber counters with a takedown into side control. Hitme struggling a bit here. Hitme is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Faber lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hitme down.
That's four minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Hitme's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hitme on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Faber tries for a kimura but Hitme is defending well. Faber controls the position. Faber is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hitme knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Faber wants to control but Hitme is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hitme with a lazy takedown attempt and Faber counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hitme won't be happy with that. Faber wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hitme keeps working. Faber is trying to get an arm triangle but Hitme is defending well. Hitme gets back to half guard. Faber is pressing down on Hitme's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hitme is holding on for now. Hitme tries to get to full guard but Faber has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Faber moves into full mount! Hitme won't be happy about that! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Faber controlling the position easily from mount. Faber working for a guillotine from mount but Hitme is in no mood to give up. Hitme regains half guard. Faber wants to pass the guard but Hitme is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hitme wants to improve his position but Faber is controlling well.
Faber is looking for a kimura but Hitme is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Faber to get the leverage. Hitme moves into full guard.
Faber wants to control from the top but Hitme keeps moving. Faber postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hitme misses with a takedown and Faber counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Faber. Faber seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Faber has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Faber wants to control from the top but Hitme keeps moving. Faber looking to pass the guard. Hitme manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Urijah Faber overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Faber bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hitme is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Faber is controlling him. Faber slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Hitme is working an open guard so Faber takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Faber throws a lazy head kick and Hitme counters with a single leg into guard. Faber didn't expect that. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Faber working for a triangle but Hitme defends it easily.

Urijah Faber dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
No luck for Hitme with that takedown attempt. Hitme gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Faber pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hitme is keeping the position for now. Faber trying to control the position from guard on top but Hitme is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hitme is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Faber prevents Hitme from getting back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Faber distracts Hitme with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hitme is trying to control the position but Faber postures up. Faber controls from within his opponent's guard. Hitme is trying to keep Faber in close.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Faber drives through with a takedown into guard. Faber postures up.
Faber is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hitme looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Faber controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Faber wants to control from the top but Hitme keeps moving. Faber stands up from guard. Let's bang! Faber gets a takedown into half guard. Faber is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hitme regains full guard. Nicely done. Hitme is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Faber stands and throws Hitme's legs to the side, diving into side control. Hitme is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Hitme's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Faber landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Hitme is trying to control Faber's posture but Faber avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Faber working the ground and pound from side control. Faber looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hitme is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Faber asserts his dominance and retains side control. Faber landing a few strikes. Hitme tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Hitme tries to escape but Faber has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
And that's the end of the fight! Urijah Faber showed his dominance in that final round. Well Faber has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
