Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Javier Solis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Lanier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lanier has chosen Sage Francis-Sea Lion as his entrance music. Andrew Lanier is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Javier Solis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Lanier! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Solis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lanier sprawls well initially but Solis persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Solis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lanier slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Solis wanted to stand there but Lanier had control of the position. Solis wants to control from the top but Lanier keeps moving. Solis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lanier working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Solis. Solis cracks Lanier with a solid left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lanier keeping moving, preventing Solis from controlling successfully.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lanier walks into a straight right hand from Solis. Lanier looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lanier looks gassed! Solis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lanier. Lanier fails with the takedown. Solis instigates a clinch. Solis breaks from the clinch.
A chopping leg kick lands by Solis. Solis clinches up with Lanier and pushes him back against the cage. Lanier is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Solis pulls him back up using the underhooks. Javier Solis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Lanier. Solis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Solis shoots for a double leg takedown but Lanier sprawls well. He's pushed Solis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Lanier misses with a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Solis lands with a slapping head kick. Andrew Lanier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Solis clinches. Solis jumps guard.
Solis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lanier trying to control but Solis is working from the bottom. Solis wants to stand up but Lanier is controlling him. Solis keeping full guard, as Lanier tries to pass. Solis keeping moving, preventing Lanier from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. No luck for Solis with that takedown attempt. Solis throws a one two combo.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Solis throws a head kick that half lands.
Lanier shoots in looking for a takedown. Solis tries to sprawl out of it but Lanier keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Solis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lanier throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lanier takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Solis shoots in but Lanier avoids the takedown attempt easily. Lanier feints and as Solis raises his hands in defense, Lanier changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Lanier not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lanier trying to control but Solis is working from the bottom. Solis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Lanier controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Lanier trying to control the position from guard on top but Solis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Solis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lanier sitting in guard here, content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Javier Solis dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Solis misses with a head kick.
Lanier throws a body kick that misses. Solis works the jab nicely. Solis scores with a spinning back kick! Lanier shoots and misses and Solis counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Lanier is lucky that one didn't land flush. Lanier takes a kick to the side of the head. Left hook, right uppercut from Solis. Solis throws a series of strikes that have Lanier backpedaling.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Solis. Some wild striking there from Solis.
Solis lands a nice shot to the body.
Solis lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Lanier keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Solis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Lanier swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Solis counters with a body kick that stops Lanier in his tracks momentarily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lanier avoids a punch combination nicely.
Solis scores with a head kick.
Solis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lanier circles away quickly and effectively. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Solis - that will leave a mark!
Lanier will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Solis closes the distance and clinches. Lanier breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lanier misses with a takedown attempt - Solis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Javier Solis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Lanier. Solis gets caught flat footed, as Lanier shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Solis looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Lanier passes into side control.
Lanier moves into full mount! Lanier controlling his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Solis wants to control but Lanier is having none of it. Solis is trying to escape the mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lanier sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Solis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Lanier controlling from the full mount. Lanier trying to control but Solis is having none of it. Lanier might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Solis kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Solis wants to hold on but Lanier pushes him away. Solis is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Lanier controlling his opponent. Lanier moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Solis has worked his arm free - good work by Solis!
Solis tries to bench press Lanier off him but Lanier keeps the position. Solis wants to control but Lanier postures up. Solis trying to remain calm as Lanier controls from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Javier Solis will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Lanier tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Lanier obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Lanier closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Solis to the mat! Solis manages to get full guard. Lanier is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Lanier is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lanier stopping the sweep attempt from Solis. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lanier controls from within his opponent's guard. Solis wants to get back to his feet but Lanier is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Lanier's corner is telling him to maintain position. Lanier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Solis swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lanier sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Solis's guard. Lanier is trying for a kimura here. Solis looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Lanier wins by kimura!
