Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Twell Huffer (ranked 5365 p4p, 25893 weight class) and Srboljub Claus Zionovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zionovic has chosen Sinan Sakic ej od kad sam se rodio as his entrance music. Twell Huffer had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Twell Huffer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Srboljub Claus Zionovic!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zionovic wants to clinch up but Huffer keeps it at a distance.

Huffer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Huffer showed some decent athleticism there.
Huffer content to control rather than advance.
Huffer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Huffer scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Zionovic gets full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Huffer controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Huffer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Huffer closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Zionovic's guard.
Huffer is stalling in the full guard.
Huffer looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Zionovic gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Huffer to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Huffer controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Huffer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Huffer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Zionovic but Zionovic pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Zionovic fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Huffer sprawls well initially but Zionovic persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Huffer gets full guard.

Huffer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zionovic manages to get himself to full guard.

Huffer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zionovic can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Huffer controls the pace.
Huffer forces his way into half guard.

Huffer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Huffer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Zionovic for as long as he can get away with.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Huffer.
Huffer continues to stall.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
More hug and hope from Huffer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Zionovic throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Huffer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Zionovic is in Huffer's guard.
Huffer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Huffer is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Huffer continues to hold on tight.
Huffer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zionovic can do to turn this around?

Zionovic has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Huffer is working away from the top position though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Twell Huffer will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Huffer drives through with a takedown into Zionovic's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Huffer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Huffer lands in his opponent's guard.

Huffer pushes down on Zionovic's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Huffer is controlling the pace.
Huffer is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Huffer performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Huffer lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Huffer not doing much here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Twell Huffer showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Huffer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
