Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Liste Pik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stewart Tennent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stewart Tennent has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liste Pik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stewart Tennent! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pik instigates a clinch. A frustrated look appears on Tennent's face as he tries to break the clinch. Pik changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tennent fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Tennent throws a series of punches but Pik moves out of range. Tennent with a nice cross. Pik throws a lazy right hand but Tennent sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Pik throws a hook but Tennent avoids it easily. Pik misses with a looping right. Pik slaps away a takedown attempt from Tennent, before circling back to the center of the mat. Tennent shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pik is trying to defend but Tennent finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tennent moves nicely into side control. Pik is trying to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tennent in side control, just content to control the action for now. Pik wants to control but Tennent postures up. Tennent trying to control the position but Pik is working away. Pik is trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pik holds on to Tennent's head and controls the position momentarily. Pik wants to control but Tennent postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Pik misses with a head kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Tennent checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Tennent shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Tennent avoids the attempt from Pik to control. Pik is trying to reverse the position but instead Tennent has taken his back - oops! Tennent is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Pik knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Pik for a finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tennent tries to keep control of the position but Pik is staying busy. Tennent patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Tennent looks gassed! Tennent avoiding Pik 's attempts to control his hands. Tennent is trying to stick to Pik's back but Pik is turning into Tennent. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Tennent's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Pik. Pik tries to stand but Tennent is controlling from the bottom. Pik throws a big right hand that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Pik trying to control the position from guard on top but Tennent is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tennent manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pik manages to get himself to full guard.
Pik looking for a guillotine here but Tennent defends easily.
Pik controls Tennent momentarily but Tennent frees himself. Tennent avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stewart Tennent dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Pik lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Pik thuds his right hand into Tennent's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Pik swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tennent counters with a shoot takedown. Pik fights it but they end up in guard. Pik trying to control the position.
Pik looking for a sweep. Not yet Pik, not yet. Pik looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tennent is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pik looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Tennent puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pik tries to roll over but Tennent keeps him under control. Pik is trying to maintain the position but Tennent is very close to passing his half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tennent in particular looking to stall.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Pik misses with a double jab
and Tennent counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Tennent sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pik's guard. Pik is trying to control but Tennent passes into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tennent has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Pik is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Tennent yanks on the arm and Pik is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Tennent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Stewart Tennent!
