Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Funk Rabbit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and dave hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rabbit doesn't manage to clinch there - hardy circles away.
Rabbit walks into a jab.
No luck for hardy with that takedown attempt.
hardy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rabbit closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rabbit lands in his opponent's guard.
Rabbit throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as hardy works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rabbit gets to his feet - hardy follows without any prompting.
hardy plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
hardy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rabbit is fending him off so far but hardy persists. Nope, Rabbit circles away and we're back to standing.
Rabbit drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rabbit is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because hardy is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

hardy is trying to escape the mount.
Rabbit has control of hardy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and hardy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Rabbit working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Rabbit looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
BOOM! Rabbit connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Rabbit tries to control but hardy wriggling away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
hardy tries to reverse the position but Rabbit maintains control.
A nice elbow there by Rabbit.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
hardy can't escape the position.
Rabbit landing strikes from the mount and hardy is in trouble!
Rabbit looking for a guillotine from mount but hardy is having none of it.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

hardy throws a series of punches but Rabbit avoids them all with ease.

Funk Rabbit overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rabbit lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
hardy is bucking up trying to escape but Rabbit cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Rabbit trying to control but hardy is having none of it.

Rabbit has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rabbit has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of hardy's face.

Funk Rabbit dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
hardy tries for a takedown but Rabbit sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
hardy doesn't manage to clinch there - Rabbit circles away.
Rabbit looks for a takedown but hardy sprawls well.
Rabbit blocks a head kick by hardy.
Rabbit shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts hardy as he jumps to the side.
hardy has taken the fight to the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rabbit throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Rabbit wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
hardy pulls guard effortlessly.
Rabbit drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rabbit jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Rabbit won't allow hardy to sweep him here.
hardy uses the cage to get back to his feet.
hardy dodges the punch combination from Rabbit.
hardy scores with a jab.
hardy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rabbit rushes hardy and presses him up against the cage.

Rabbit stalling in the clinch but hardy improves position.

Rabbit gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
hardy striking off his back but it's not causing Rabbit any problems.

Funk Rabbit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of dave hardy.

Rabbit closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming hardy to the mat! hardy manages to get full guard.
Rabbit has gone for a leg lock! hardy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rabbit's guard.
hardy won't allow Rabbit to get back to his feet.

hardy wants to control from the top but Rabbit keeps moving.
hardy tries to stand but Rabbit is controlling from the bottom.
Rabbit pulls hardy in close to his closed guard and prevents hardy from doing any damage or advancing position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rabbit is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but hardy frees his head nicely. Oh but Rabbit has switched to an armbar! hardy is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
