Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Neal Nuss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manuel Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rios is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Like Toy Soldiers. Neal Nuss looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Neal Nuss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manuel Rios! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rios gets caught flat footed, as Nuss shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Rios had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Nuss is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rios Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Nuss's back instead. Rios tightening his grip on Nuss, looking for the choke. Will Rios go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Rios is trying to stick to Nuss's back but Nuss is turning into Rios. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rios's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Nuss. Nuss looking to pass the guard. Nuss trying to control but Rios is working from the bottom. Rios is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rios has his foot on Nuss's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nuss works his way back into a safe position though. Nuss trying to control but Rios is working from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rios tries to clinch but Nuss moves out of range. Nuss keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Rios looks gassed! Nuss closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Manuel Rios has been cut. Nuss lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rios backs up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nuss has closed the distance and engaged Rios in a clinch.
Nuss has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rios is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Nuss scores with a knee to the head.
Rios stops a takedown attempt from Nuss.
Rios gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Nuss.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Neal Nuss. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nuss wants to break free but Rios has control.
Nuss blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rios pulls Nuss into guard.
Rios is pulling down on Nuss's head to control his posture. Nuss trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Nuss is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Rios wants to sweep here but Nuss controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Rios throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Nuss working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Nuss throwing strikes but missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rios uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Nuss. Rios pushes Nuss up against the cage in a clinch. A short body shot lands from Nuss as the two fighters clinch.
Nuss pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Rios shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nuss pinned against the cage. Nuss gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Rios tries to clinch up. Nuss misses with a few strikes there.
Rios gets a clinch. Nuss breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rios scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Rios landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Rios blocks the strikes from Nuss.
Nuss is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rios scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Nuss manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Rios prevents Nuss from getting back to his feet. Rios trying to control the position from guard on top but Nuss is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rios stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nuss swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nuss has a closed guard, preventing Rios from standing up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nuss misses with a straight right. Nuss drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rios trying to keep a closed guard but Nuss is proving a slippery customer.

Nuss tries a head kick but it misses.
Rios is looking to clinch. Rios shoots in but no luck this time. Rios moves in looking to clinch but Nuss pushes him off. Nice sprawl there from Nuss as Rios shoots in. Nuss changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rios looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Nuss in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. You can see the frustration on Rios's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Rios is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nuss lands a nice short elbow. Rios looks like he's trying to stand up.
Nuss is looking for a kimura but Rios is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nuss to get the leverage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rios wants to improve his position but Nuss is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rios wants to control but Nuss is keeping busy and won't allow it. Nuss prevents Rios from improving his position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Nuss tries to clinch and Rios counters with a shoot takedown. Nuss fights it but they end up in guard. Rios trying to control but Nuss is working from the bottom. Rios tries to free his leg and advance position but Nuss is retaining full guard. Nuss wants to stand up but Rios is controlling him. Rios loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Nuss striking off his back but it's not causing Rios any problems. Nuss tries to land a sweep but no joy. Nuss is trying to keep Rios in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rios is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nuss swinging wilding here.
Rios has a takedown stuffed. Neal Nuss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Manuel Rios. Nice sprawl there from Rios as Nuss shoots in. Rios looks to land a combination but Nuss avoids it well. Donk. Nuss catches Rios right on the button with a cross. Nuss drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Rios trying to control the position.
Rios throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nuss postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Nuss works a leg free and moves into half guard. Rios looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ground and pound from Nuss. Nuss wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rios keeps working. Rios is looking to control Nuss's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rios avoid being mounted? Nuss wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Rios uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Rios working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Nuss. Rios escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nuss gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Nuss working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rios is on top in guard.
Nuss throws his legs up looking for a submission but Rios uses it to pass to side control.

and Rios counters with a series of strikes. Nuss will be more careful next time no doubt. Rios lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rios. A head kick by Nuss misses and Rios counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Nuss! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rios wants to control the pace but Nuss is squirming around nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nuss darts in trying to clinch and Rios decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nuss's guard. Rios works over Nuss with some ground and pound from guard. Rios in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rios trying to control the position from guard on top but Nuss is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nuss is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Rios is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Excellent takedown into side control there by Rios. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nuss manages to get back to half guard. Manuel Rios has got the better of the ground game so far. Nuss on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Nuss gets full guard. Nuss thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rios wants to improve his position but Nuss is controlling well.
Nuss decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nuss doesn't manage to clinch there - Rios circles away.
Nuss shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rios as he jumps to the side. Neal Nuss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rios clinches but Nuss breaks the clinch and Nuss counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Rios keeping full guard, as Nuss tries to pass. Rios working for a triangle but Nuss defends it easily.
Nuss throws a big right hand that misses. Nuss tries to free his leg and advance position but Rios is retaining full guard. Nuss stands up from guard. Let's bang! Nuss shoots for a double leg takedown but Rios sprawls well. He's pushed Nuss's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nuss fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rios, pushing him back against the cage. Nuss is working for takedown but Rios is calmly controlling the position for now. Rios is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Nuss gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Nuss tries for a takedown but Rios manages to get underhooks.
Nuss breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rios is looking to clinch but Nuss is avoiding it.
Rios stuffs the takedown. Nuss throws a series of punches but Rios avoids them all with ease. Nuss throws a front kick that sends Rios stumbling back into the cage. Nuss moves into range and clinches up with Rios. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nuss digs a right hand into Rios's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Rios's gas tank. Rios stops a takedown attempt from Nuss.
Rios tries to pull guard but Nuss won't allow it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rios decides to pull guard. Rios manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rios lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Nuss hang on?
And that's the end of the fight! Neal Nuss showed his dominance in that final round. I think Nuss has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
