Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Bova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Mahoney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bova comes to the cage accompanied by I came to bring the pain!. Mahoney comes into a darkened arena with his song building. click me kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Tony Bova has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Bova! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Mahoney! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bova avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Bova. Mahoney gets back to half guard. Bova thows a huge punch but Mahoney dodges it nicely.
Mahoney is trying to escape back to his feet but Bova uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Mahoney is pushing Bova's head away, looking to escape. Bova manages to hold on to the position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mahoney struggling a bit here. Bova working the strikes but Mahoney uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Mahoney taking some punishment here, with Bova in his half guard. Mahoney wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mahoney pushes Bova off and gets back to his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Bova tightens his grip and picks Mahoney up, before dumping him to the ground. Mahoney manages to land in guard. Mahoney wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Bova manages to pass to side control. Bova sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mahoney defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bova lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Bova thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mahoney's head. Mahoney is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bova scores with a couple of nice shots. Bova thows a huge punch but Mahoney dodges it nicely.
Bova perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bova throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bova with the ground and pound but Mahoney uses the opportunity to regain guard. Bova distracts Mahoney with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Mahoney wants to stand but Bova is controlling the position. Mahoney avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tony Bova dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Bova misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Mahoney pushes Bova up against the cage in a clinch. Bova ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bova no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Bova will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mahoney trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bova's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Bova. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mahoney lands a nice elbow. Bova jumps guard and drags Mahoney to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Mahoney tries to free his leg and advance position but Bova is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mahoney is looking to stand up but Bova won't let him. Bova looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mahoney is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bova manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mahoney is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bova breaks from Mahoney's wrist control and lands an elbow. Mahoney wants to get back to his feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tony Bova will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bova. Bova fails with a takedown attempt. Mahoney tries for a takedown but Bova sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mahoney putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Bova in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mahoney lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Mahoney landing some nice looking knees to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mahoney pulls guard effortlessly. Bova landing with the ground and pound. Bova throws a big right hand that misses. Bova throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mahoney is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bova postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Bova has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bova throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mahoney works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mahoney is trying to keep Bova in close.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bova fails with the takedown and Mahoney holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Bova tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mahoney just stands there and leans against the cage. Mahoney tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Bova is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. A knee to the head by Mahoney.
Mahoney utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Mahoney gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Bova jumps guard but Mahoney stands there with Bova around his waist. Bova gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mahoney looking for a takedown. A nice glancing elbow lands by Mahoney. Bova looking for a takedown. Mahoney using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bova has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bova accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bova with a flurry of punches that miss. Bova postures up in Mahoney's guard and throws a big left but Mahoney blocks it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mahoney is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
And that's the end of the fight! Paul Mahoney comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Bova has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
