Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Sehn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Guilherme Rigo!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sehn gets caught flat footed, as Rigo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Sehn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sehn striking off his back but it's not causing Rigo any problems.
Sehn wants to get back to his feet but Rigo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Sehn is looking for a triangle but Rigo pushes his legs off easily.

Rigo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sehn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rigo wanted to stand there but Sehn had control of the position.

Sehn looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sehn is breathing heavily.

Sehn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Sehn is working an open guard so Rigo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Rigo connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sehn momentarily.

Rigo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Sehn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rigo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rigo landing some decent shots from guard.

Rigo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Rigo rushes Sehn and presses him up against the cage.

Rigo has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Sehn clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Rigo controlling from the back.

Rigo is persistently looking for the submission but Sehn is defending it well.
Sehn controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rigo lands shots from the back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rigo missing with strikes from the back.
Sehn manages to reverse the position and now he's in Rigo's guard. Nice work there by Sehn.
Sehn won't allow Rigo to get back to his feet.
Sehn forces his way into half guard.
Sehn slips a nice elbow through Rigo's hands, connecting with Rigo's forehead.
Sehn is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Sehn looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Sehn takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rigo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Sehn throws a strike but Rigo avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Sehn would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Sehn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sehn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rigo counters with a left to the body.
Sehn misses with a takedown attempt

so Rigo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sehn looking for a sweep. Not yet Sehn, not yet.

Sehn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rigo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sehn manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sehn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rigo is bucking up trying to escape but Sehn cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rigo tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Sehn working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Rigo turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Sehn off and cradles Rigo's limp body as Sehn celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Rafael Sehn!
