Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Pexton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lucas Pexton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Martin Ward! The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pexton rushes Ward and presses him up against the ropes. Ward has Pexton pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Pexton manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Pexton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Pexton lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Pexton gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ward.
Pexton decides to pull guard. Pexton wants to stand up but Ward is controlling him. Ward slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Ward drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pexton dives on top into guard. Ward looking for subs off his back but Pexton has passed one foot through into half guard.
Pexton is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Ward looking for subs from the bottom but Pexton mounts him! The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pexton wants to stand but Ward is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Ward working to try and regain half guard.
Pexton is landing with some decent strikes but Ward is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Ward is looking to improve his position but Pexton isn't that keen on the idea. Ward tries to lock up and control but Pexton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. A nice elbow there by Pexton. Pexton misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Pexton trying to control but Ward is having none of it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Ward tries to lock up and control but Pexton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Pexton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ward is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pexton avoids the attempt from Ward to control. Pexton postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ward looks a forlorn figure.
Ward holds on for dear life, controlling Pexton's posture momentarily. Pexton lands a nice shot to the head. Pexton goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ward is on top in guard.
Ward is pushing down on Pexton's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pexton is fighting to maintain full guard but Ward has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pexton actively working from the bottom here. Pexton is breathing heavily. Ward is trying to work for a kimura but Pexton is defending well.
Ward working Pexton over with strikes. Ward seems to be working for a kimura but Pexton defends the submission attempt. Ward wants to work for an arm triangle but Pexton is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pexton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ward is working away from the top position though. Ward winds up and cracks Pexton with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Ward is looking to take a break and control but Pexton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ward slips a nice elbow through Pexton's hands, connecting with Pexton's forehead. Ward is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Ward in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Pexton tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Ward!
