Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henri Hobbin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rick James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Henri Hobbin! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by James. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hobbin can do anything to dispel that myth. James tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Hobbin regains half guard. James sitting and controlling from the half guard. James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hobbin wants to improve his position but James is controlling well.
Hobbin is refusing to be controlled, as James sits in half guard. Hobbin wants to control but James is keeping busy.
James wants to work for an arm triangle but Hobbin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hobbin tries to get to full guard but James has control of the leg.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hobbin tries to clinch up but James circles away and keeps his distance. Hobbin misses with a takedown so James counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hobbin controls James momentarily but James frees himself. James drops back looking for a leg! Hobbin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hobbin manages to kick James off! James jumps back into Hobbin's guard. James stands and steps away. Hobbin gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hobbin shoots and misses and James counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! James stands up from half guard. James misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Good work by James as he checks the leg kick. James shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than James was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hobbin looks gassed! James scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Hobbin?

James stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. James drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hobbin working for a triangle but James defends it easily.
Hobbin is trying to control the position but James postures up. James sitting in guard, not really doing much. James stands and steps away. Hobbin gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. James swings and misses with a hook to the body.
James fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hobbin looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. James clinches up with Hobbin and pushes him back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hobbin smiles and moves away.

James decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Hobbin wants to get back to full guard. James passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hobbin! James gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. James throws a right and a left that both miss. James drives through with a takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick James dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Hobbin gets caught flat footed, as James shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. James has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hobbin is proving hard to escape from. James landing some decent shots from guard. James wants to control from the top but Hobbin keeps moving. Hobbin has momentary wrist control but James slips an elbow through the middle. Hobbin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. James avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hobbin is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. James decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hobbin, up you get! James tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hobbin tries for a takedown but James circles away easily and James cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. James jabs at Hobbin's body. James closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Henri Hobbin has been cut. James digs a good hook to Hobbin's body.
Rick James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hobbin avoids the head kick by James.
James is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hobbin can do to turn this around? James fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
James throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hobbin takes one on the button. Hobbin misses with a takedown and James decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hobbin's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Hobbin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
James chips away with some ground and pound. Hobbin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. James is aware though and is defending well. Hobbin throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. James drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and James jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. James is working Hobbin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. James postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. James lands a jab to Hobbin's midsection. A jab from James finds it's way through Hobbin's defenses. Hobbin slips a jab and a cross from James.
James shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hobbin napping and manages to drive through into side control! James prevents Hobbin from escaping the position. Hobbin being controlled for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. James lands some shots froms side control. Rick James overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hobbin is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hobbin is trying to control James's posture but James avoids it. James advances to mount. James with a couple of short strikes. Hobbin reaches up to try and control the position but James seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Hobbin rolls and tries to escape and now James has his back!
James just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

That's one minute gone in the round. James stands up from Hobbin's guard - James perhaps looking for a knockout. James looks for a takedown but Hobbin sprawls well. James slaps away a takedown attempt from Hobbin, before circling back to the center of the mat. A nice combination there by James.
Hobbin misses with a takedown attempt - James sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. James lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. James shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hobbin is trying to control James's posture. James takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Hobbin! James is rotating here... this could be the end... Hobbin is out! James has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
