Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fred Frape (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Weller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Weller acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Frape!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Weller!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frape blocks a jab.
Weller throws a head kick that misses.
Frape fails with an attempt to clinch.
A combination from Weller does no damage.
Weller misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Frape throws a sloppy head kick
and Weller counters with a three punch combo that has Frape backing up. Frape nods at Weller to acknowledge the strikes.
Frape moves out of range as Weller throws a body kick.

Frape closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Weller to the mat! Weller manages to get full guard.

Frape stands up and waves to Weller to follow him.
Frape throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Weller's waist but Weller gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Frape off to one side.
Frape slips a jab and a cross from Weller.

Weller tries to bum rush Frape with a series of wild strikes but Frape uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Weller fails to land with a series of punches.
Frape misses with a combination
and Weller counters with a head kick.

and Frape counters with a shoot takedown. Weller fights it but they end up in guard.
Frape pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Weller is keeping the position for now.
Weller is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Frape is controlling him.

Weller is working an open guard so Frape takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Frape looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Frape shoots in and drives through. Weller sprawls well.

Frape clinches up with Weller and pushes him back against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Frape really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Frape darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Frape stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Frape shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Weller but Weller pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Frape bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Weller's guard.

Frape not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Weller is looking to stand up but Frape isn't so interested in that idea.

Frape postures up in Weller's guard and throws a big left but Weller blocks it.
Frape prevents Weller from getting back to his feet.
Frape trying to control but Weller is working from the bottom.
Weller wants to stand up but Frape is controlling him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Fred Frape overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Frape shoots for a double leg takedown but Weller sprawls well. He's pushed Frape's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Fred Frape is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Frape showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Weller.
Frape changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Weller tries to avoid it but Frape manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Weller to the ground. Weller escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Frape counters with a nice double leg into side control. Weller won't be happy with that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Weller sneaks out the side door and pushes Frape away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Weller looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Frape tests Weller's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Frape fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Frape shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Weller as he avoids it easily.
Weller looks to land a body kick but Frape moved away.
David Weller has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Frape slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Frape, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
