Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wade Ramoin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Wade Ramoin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, George Ray!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ray shoots in for a double leg but Ramoin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ray will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ramoin misses with a takedown attempt

so Ray counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Ray lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Ramoin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ramoin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ramoin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Ramoin is looking for a triangle but Ray pushes his legs off easily.
Ray wants to control from the top but Ramoin keeps moving.

Ramoin has his foot on Ray's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ray works his way back into a safe position though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ramoin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ray throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ramoin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ray thows a big elbow that misses.
Ray lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ray really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ramoin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ray stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ramoin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ray stands up over Ramoin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ray shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ramoin's guard.

Ramoin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ray can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Ray must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ramoin is breathing heavily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ray accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ramoin is looking for a triangle but Ray pushes his legs off easily.

Ray gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Ray scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Ray in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Ray is putting a hurting on Ramoin here, landing some big shots from side control.
Ramoin takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Ray stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Ray throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ramoin.
Ramoin misses with a looping right.

Ray clinches with his opponent.
Ramoin tries to pull guard but Ray holds him up against the cage and eventually Ramoin drops back down to his feet.

Ray is looking to sweep but instead, Ramoin has passed into half guard.

Ramoin stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Ray to get to his feet.
Ramoin closes the distance looking to clinch

and Ray counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ramoin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ray scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Ramoin keeping moving, preventing Ray from controlling successfully.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ray connects with a couple of short punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Ray dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Ramoin fails with the takedown

and Ray counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Ramoin tries to roll over but Ray keeps him under control.
Ray looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Ramoin wants to control but Ray is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ray takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Ray tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Ray is working for a kimura here but Ramoin manages to reverse the position and he's now in Ray's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ramoin connects with a couple of short punches.
Ramoin trying to control the position from guard on top but Ray is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ramoin prevents Ray from getting back to his feet.
Ray throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ray can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ramoin has his takedown stuffed

and Ray counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Ramoin wants to improve his position but Ray is controlling well.
Ray looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ramoin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ramoin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ray wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ramoin keeps working.
Ramoin gets full guard.
Ray postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ray in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ramoin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wade Ramoin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ray fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ramoin, pushing him back against the cage.
Ramoin is looking to break free of the clinch but Ray has double underhooks.
Ramoin prevents the takedown attempt.
A right hook to the body lands for Ray.
Ray gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ramoin.
Ray jumps guard but Ramoin stands there with Ray around his waist. Ray gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ramoin connects with a nasty looking knee right to Ray's face.

Ray has clasped his hands together around Ramoin's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Ramoin is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ray's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Ray is keen to just control but Ramoin is a slippery customer.

Ray not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Ray thows a huge punch but Ramoin dodges it nicely.
George Ray has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ramoin is trying to control but can't.
Ray is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Ramoin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ray doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ray manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

George Ray showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ray drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ray looking to sit in guard and control but Ramoin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ray is looking for a triangle here but Ramoin uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Ramoin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Ray tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ray throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ray tries to bench press Ramoin off him but Ramoin keeps the position.

Ramoin is trying to get an arm triangle but Ray is defending well.
Ray is looking to reverse the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Ray bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ramoin takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Ramoin is looking to reverse the position.
Ray is looking to take a break and control but Ramoin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ramoin pushes Ray away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ray gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Ramoin is looking to regain half guard here but Ray keeps moving and retains side control.

Ramoin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ray wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Ramoin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ray gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ray has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ramoin is proving hard to escape from.

Ray drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ramoin dives on top into guard.
Ramoin stands up over Ray, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

George Ray comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ray has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
