Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luke Withers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Iverson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Withers comes to the cage accompanied by Snap your fingers snap your neck. Luke Withers had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.6lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Withers moves forwards but Iverson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Withers fails to land the takedown.

Withers pivots, looking for a leg kick but Iverson is out of range and Withers settles back down.
Iverson shoots in but Withers avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Iverson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Withers was covering up waiting for the punch and Iverson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

John Iverson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Donk. Iverson catches Withers right on the button with a cross.
Iverson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Withers swivels and escapes.

Iverson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Iverson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Withers as he jumps to the side.
Withers tries to move into range but Iverson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Luke Withers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Iverson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
