Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matheus Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kimi Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gomes might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mike de Mosqueiro. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Maia.
Gomes manages to work his way to half guard, despite Maia's best efforts.

Maia is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gomes sees it coming and defends easily.
Maia is looking for a kimura but Gomes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Maia to get the leverage.

Kimi Maia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
