Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Prince Melo Gapuz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunner State (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gapuz tries for a takedown but State sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gapuz tries for a takedown but State sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gapuz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. State is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Gapuz jumps into side control! State takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
It looks like Gunner State has been cut. Gapuz prevents State from escaping the position. State is trying to improve his position. State sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gapuz connects with a nice short shot to State's temple. Gapuz with the ground and pound but State uses the opportunity to regain guard. Gapuz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. State is striking but Gapuz is not phased and passes to half guard. Gapuz tries to pass the half guard into mount. State knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. State controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Gapuz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. State taking some punishment here, with Gapuz in his half guard. State wants to control but Gapuz is keeping busy.
State tries to roll over but Gapuz keeps him under control. Gapuz slips a nice elbow through State's hands, connecting with State's forehead. That's two minutes gone in the round. State has hold of Gapuz's hands but Gapuz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Gapuz prevents State from improving his position. Gapuz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That has opened up Gunner State's cut even more. Gapuz working the head and body with strikes. State wants to get back to full guard. Gapuz is nestled in close to State, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gapuz looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Gapuz missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Gapuz lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. State has hold of Gapuz's hands but Gapuz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. State trying to control but Gapuz postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gapuz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Gapuz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. State trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. State wants to stand but Gapuz has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Gapuz wants to sweep but no luck. State trying to control but Gapuz is working from the bottom. State decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gapuz, up you get! State scores a takedown into full mount! Gapuz flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Gapuz tries to reverse the position but State maintains control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gapuz manages to regain half guard. Good work. Gapuz manages to get to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Prince Melo Gapuz dominated that round. The cut man is working on Gunner State's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
State darts in and clinches Gapuz up against the cage. State stops a takedown attempt from Gapuz.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from State. Gapuz has State pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. State manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Gapuz wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Prince Melo Gapuz. That's going to take a lot out of him. State breaks the clinch.
State shoots in and bounces Gapuz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gapuz punching from the bottom. State wants to control from the top but Gapuz keeps moving. Gapuz tries to strike from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. State stopping the sweep attempt from Gapuz.
That's one minute gone in the round. State drops back looking for a leg! Gapuz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gapuz manages to kick State off! State jumps back into Gapuz's guard. State trying to control the position from guard on top but Gapuz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. State darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. State trying to control from half guard but Gapuz is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. State stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Gapuz to get to his feet. State closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. State trying to control the action but Gapuz is working from the bottom. State decides to stand back up. State steps back and let's Gapuz get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gapuz misses with a takedown attempt and State counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Gapuz is trying to get back to full guard. Gapuz tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Gapuz gets full guard. Gapuz lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for State! Gapuz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gapuz landing shots from mount. State taking shots to the head.
State is rocked!
The cut above Gunner State's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gunner State's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
