Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Tretiak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rollo Smek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vladimir Tretiak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rollo Smek! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tretiak walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. A big right from Smek misses. Smek defending well as Tretiak loads up on a big left hand. Smek moves out of range of the strikes. The fight stays on the outside here - Tretiak looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tretiak tries to clinch up. Tretiak misses with a body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tretiak. Horrible takedown by Tretiak or perhaps it was just good defense by Smek which made him look bad. Smek tries to clinch and Tretiak decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Smek's guard. Tretiak tries to free his leg and advance position but Smek is retaining full guard. Smek is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tretiak is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tretiak throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smek is adopting a defensive guard. Tretiak forces his way into half guard. Tretiak is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Smek defends it well. Smek has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tretiak is working away from the top position though. Tretiak thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Smek to regain full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Tretiak pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smek is keeping the position for now. Tretiak throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Smek works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Tretiak postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Tretiak throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Tretiak tries to free his leg and advance position but Smek is retaining full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Tretiak misses with a double jab.
Smek tries to clinch but Tretiak moves away and Tretiak counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Tretiak. Smek lands an elbow that stopped Tretiak in his tracks for a moment. Tretiak stalling against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Smek gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Tretiak tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Smek smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Tretiak. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smek closes the distance looking to clinch and Tretiak counters by clinching up. Smek is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Tretiak pulls him back up using the underhooks. Tretiak working aggressively here.

Tretiak lands a nice uppercut. Smek is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tretiak gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Knees in the clinch landing for Smek.
Smek pulls guard. Tretiak is looking to work some ground and pound but Smek has wrist control. Smek is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Smek wants to control the position but Tretiak says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Smek is trying to maintain the position but Tretiak is very close to passing his half guard. Smek tries to kick Tretiak off but Tretiak keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Smek moves into full guard.
Tretiak keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Smek's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Vladimir Tretiak will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A swing and a miss from Tretiak. Smek tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Tretiak counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Smek gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Tretiak trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Smek is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Tretiak postures up in Smek's guard and throws a big left but Smek blocks it. Tretiak tries to free his leg and advance position but Smek is retaining full guard. Tretiak drops back looking for a leg! Smek is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smek manages to kick Tretiak off! Tretiak jumps back into Smek's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smek is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tretiak trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tretiak is working hard here to advance position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smek on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Tretiak rushes Smek and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Smek gets underhooks to prevent Tretiak's takedown attempt.
Smek's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tretiak changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smek looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Smek tries to get back to half guard but can't. Tretiak in side control lands a decent elbow. Tretiak working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Tretiak goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Smek rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Tretiak's guard! Nice work there by Smek! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tretiak is looking for a triangle here but Smek uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tretiak is looking to reverse the position. Smek decides to stand back up. Vladimir Tretiak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tretiak looks to clinch and Smek counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tretiak's knee momentarily. Tretiak misses with a double jab
and Smek makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Smek uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tretiak. Smek wants to clinch up but Tretiak keeps it at a distance. Tretiak misses with a straight right.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smek throws a head kick that misses. Smek takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Smek displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tretiak throws out the jab. Tretiak throws out a loose jab but Smek uses good head movement to avoid it. Tretiak with a poor takedown and Smek moves into the clinch. Tretiak misses with a short punch on the inside. Smek throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tretiak blocks it with crossed arms. Tretiak controlling the action here for a moment.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Tretiak creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Smek prevents Tretiak from breaking the clinch. Tretiak working aggressively here.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vladimir Tretiak will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Smek fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tretiak avoids it really well and circles away. A big right from Tretiak misses. Smek tries to clinch but fails miserably and Tretiak counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Smek avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Smek preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Smek throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Tretiak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Smek uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tretiak. Tretiak is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Tretiak misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smek.
Rollo Smek is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tretiak misses with a looping left. Smek has Tretiak up against the cage in a clinch.
Tretiak tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Smek just stands there and leans against the cage. Smek breaks from the clinch.

Tretiak dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Tretiak dives in and grabs Smek's left leg, looking for a takedown. Smek pushes down on Tretiak's head and hops out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smek tries to clinch but fails miserably and Tretiak counters with a lovely straight right hand! Smek stuffs the takedown attempt from Tretiak. Tretiak gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Tretiak. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tretiak with a poor takedown and Smek counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Tretiak wants to get back to full guard. Tretiak wants to sweep but Smek has passed to side control! Tretiak is looking for a sweep. Smek in side control, just content to control the action for now. Smek trying to control the action but Tretiak is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smek stands up and we're back to a striking position. Vladimir Tretiak is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Tretiak lands a jab to the head.
Rollo Smek has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The fight moves into the clinch position. Tretiak controlling the action here for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tretiak lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Smek or not. Smek tries to land knees in the clinch but Tretiak avoids the damage to the body. Smek lands a good knee to the midsection. Tretiak won't want to take too many of those. Tretiak tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Smek's elbow. A short body shot lands from Smek as the two fighters clinch.
Smek lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Tretiak backwards. Smek escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tretiak looks to throw the jab but Smek is out of range. Tretiak gets the takedown into side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Smek gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Well, if Tretiak is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Rollo Smek. I think Tretiak has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
