Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre St George! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Leeland Chapman! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chapman scores with a hook to the body. St George takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. St George keeps the fight on the outside. St George fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chapman sprawls well initially but St George persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Chapman is refusing to be controlled, as St George sits in half guard. St George thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. St George has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Chapman tries to roll over but St George keeps him under control. St George sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Chapman defending well though. Chapman trying to control from the bottom.
Chapman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. St George wants to pass to mount but Chapman is defending the position. Chapman is not content to let St George control the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. St George gets caught flat footed, as Chapman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chapman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Chapman passes St George's right leg, so he's now in half guard. St George trying to control from the bottom.
Chapman controlling the action here. St George is looking to improve his position.
Chapman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. St George is looking for a sweep. Chapman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. St George actively working from the bottom here. Chapman is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Chapman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Chapman is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
St George is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chapman controlling the action here. Chapman prevents St George from improving his position. Chapman is trying to control. St George wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. St George trying to control here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Chapman trying to mount his opponent but St George defends it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Chapman shoots in and drives through. St George sprawls well. St George tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chapman swivels and escapes. St George is breathing heavily. St George swats away the attempt to clinch by Chapman. St George throws a series of punches but Chapman avoids them all with ease. St George gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Chapman to score an easy takedown into full guard. St George is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Chapman keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chapman works his way to full guard. Good work. Chapman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Chapman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Chapman throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Chapman looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. St George throwing strikes but missing. St George stopping the sweep attempt from Chapman. St George in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leeland Chapman dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
St George gets in close and instigates a clinch. Chapman gets control of St George's arms and successfully pulls guard. Chapman will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Chapman looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. St George postures up.
St George thows a big elbow that misses. St George looking to pass the guard. St George controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Chapman keeping moving, preventing St George from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. St George throws a strike but Chapman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Chapman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. St George is keeping the position for now.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. St George moves out of range of the body kick. Chapman blocks a head kick by St George.
St George swats away the attempt to clinch by Chapman. St George takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
A head kick misses from St George. St George rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chapman moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. St George tries for a takedown but Chapman circles away easily and Chapman counters with a series of strikes. St George will be more careful next time no doubt. St George throws a head kick but Chapman moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chapman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and St George counters by moving into the clinch. St George stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Chapman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. St George just stands there and leans against the cage. St George keeps control of Chapman as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Chapman can't get the takedown.
Pierre St George has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leeland Chapman. A frustrated look appears on Chapman's face as he tries to break the clinch. St George fails to pull the fight into his guard.
St George keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Chapman's efforts to push away. St George jumps guard.
St George has momentary wrist control but Chapman slips an elbow through the middle. Chapman trying to control the position from guard on top but St George is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. St George managing to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chapman controls from within his opponent's guard. St George has his feet on Chapman's thighs here. He's pushed Chapman off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Chapman screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
