Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santander displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hennessy throws out the jab.
Santander shoots in for a takedown but Hennessy shows good takedown defense.
Santander moves out of range of the strikes.
Hennessy misses with a straight right.

Santander closes the distance and pushes Hennessy back into the cage.

Santander pulls Hennessy into guard.

Hennessy drops back looking for a leg! Santander is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Santander manages to kick Hennessy off! Hennessy jumps back into Santander's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hennessy has gone for a leg lock! Santander slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hennessy's guard.

Santander is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hennessy is surviving well by controlling Santander's body position as best he can.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hennessy throws a hook to the side of Santander's head but Santander sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hennessy loads up on a big right hand but Santander slips the punch.
Santander uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hennessy.
Sean Hennessy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santander keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hennessy.

Hennessy throws a hook but Santander blocks it.
Hennessy throws a big shot that misses.
Santander slips a straight right by Hennessy.
Santander shoots for a takedown but Hennessy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hennessy might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big left from Hennessy misses.
Santander moves out of range of the strikes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Horrible takedown by Santander or perhaps it was just good defense by Hennessy which made him look bad.

Santander is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hennessy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hennessy's back!

Hennessy is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Santander is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Santander has escaped and now he's on top!

Hennessy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Santander doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Santander manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
