The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy throws a series of strikes that have Tuou backpedaling.
Some wild striking there from Hardy.
Hardy tries for a takedown but Tuou sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hardy lands a body shot.

Tuou has managed to clinch.
Hardy drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tuou gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Hardy is trying to break the clinch but Tuou has him pressed against the cage.

Tuou gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hardy wants to get back to full guard.
Hardy flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hardy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hardy throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Tuou escapes and throws Hardy's legs to the side, diving into side control!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tuou misses with a takedown attempt - Hardy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Hardy tries to get to full guard but Tuou has control of the leg.
Hardy wants to get back to full guard but Tuou has mounted him!
Tuou looking to control but Hardy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's time! Hardy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Hardy throws a series of strikes that have Tuou backpedaling.
Hardy looks to land a combination but Tuou avoids it well.
Tuou dodges the punch combination from Hardy.

and Tuou counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hardy's guard now.

Hardy throws his legs up looking for a submission but Tuou uses it to pass to side control.

Tuou stands up and beckons Hardy to his feet.

and Tuou counters by clinching up.
A frustrated look appears on Hardy's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Tuou breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Tuou counters with a shoot takedown. Hardy fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carter Hardy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hardy has his foot on Tuou's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tuou works his way back into a safe position though.

Hardy isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tuou stacks Hardy on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tuou!
