Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seymore Buttz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dragan Davydenko! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Buttz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Buttz throws a nice looking combination but Davydenko bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Buttz's corner calls for a 1-2. Buttz obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Buttz shoots in for a takedown but Davydenko shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Buttz pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Buttz lands a jab.
It looks like Dragan Davydenko has been cut. Davydenko looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Buttz is fending him off so far but Davydenko persists. Nope, Buttz circles away and we're back to standing. Buttz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nice takedown defense from Buttz. No joy for Davydenko on that attempt. No luck with that takedown attempt from Davydenko. Seymore Buttz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dragan Davydenko. Buttz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Davydenko.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buttz misses with a few strikes there.
Davydenko takes one on the button. Buttz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Davydenko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buttz as he avoids it easily. Buttz takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Davydenko. Davydenko looks gassed! Buttz circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Davydenko to the canvas! Davydenko doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Buttz keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Seymore Buttz!
