Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jackie Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Happy Pete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Day kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hammerfall - At the End of the Rainbow. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackie Day! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Happy Pete! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Day closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pete isn't going anywhere. Pete manages to work his way to half guard, despite Day's best efforts. Pete tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Day blocks the strikes from Pete.
Pete flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Day is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pete can do anything to dispel that myth. Day throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Pete tries to roll over but Day keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Day trying to control from half guard but Pete is working away.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Pete walks into a jab. Pete gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Day to counter with a crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Day tries to clinch but Pete is having none of it. Day fails in his attempt to clinch. Day gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pete to score an easy takedown into full guard. Pete with a nice head shot there. Pete throws a big right hand that misses. Pete has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Day keeping moving, preventing Pete from controlling successfully. Pete got a little sloppy there for a moment and Day has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pete has managed to get both his arms back between Day's legs - danger averted.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Day trying to keep a closed guard but Pete is proving a slippery customer.
Pete distracts Day with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Day is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pete lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Pete throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Day works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Day controlling Pete's posture. Pete loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Day looking for a sweep. Not yet Day, not yet. Day avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Day can't keep his opponent in guard - Pete advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Pete is working for a submission of some sort.
Pete looks gassed! Pete prevents Day from improving his position. Pete thows a huge punch but Day dodges it nicely.
Pete throws a strike but Day avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Pete looking to pass the guard. Pete stopping the sweep attempt from Day.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Day lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pete! Pete flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Pete tries to reverse the position but Day maintains control. Day wants to control the pace but Pete is squirming around nicely. Day lands with some strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jackie Day will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Pete tries for a takedown but Day circles away easily and Day counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pete! Day lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
A nice elbow there by Day. Day working the ground and pound effectively.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pete swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Pete is wriggling around trying to escape.
Pete taking shots to the head. Pete is breathing heavily. Day landing strikes from the mount and Pete is in trouble! Day lands a big elbow - Pete is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Pete is forced to tap out!
