Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mateo Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas LaVey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). LaVey is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Deicide - Scars of the Crucifix. Mateo Gonzalez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mateo Gonzalez!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucas LaVey!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez just misses with a punch to the body.
LaVey throws a head kick but Gonzalez moves out of range.
Gonzalez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from LaVey.
LaVey avoids a punch combination nicely.
LaVey uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gonzalez.
Gonzalez has a takedown stuffed.
Gonzalez throws out a loose jab but LaVey uses good head movement to avoid it.
LaVey defending well as Gonzalez loads up on a big left hand.

Gonzalez gets the takedown into side control.
Gonzalez lands some shots froms side control.
I wouldn't like to be where LaVey is right now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
LaVey manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Gonzalez tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
LaVey wants to stand up but Gonzalez has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Gonzalez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
LaVey sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Gonzalez misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Gonzalez regains full guard. Nicely done.
Gonzalez wants to sweep here but LaVey controlling him for the moment.
LaVey must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gonzalez throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Gonzalez is striking off his back. LaVey thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
LaVey content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gonzalez punching from the bottom.
Gonzalez is trying to maintain the position but LaVey is very close to passing his half guard.
Gonzalez missing with punches from the bottom.
Still in half guard, LaVey seems content to control.
LaVey's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Gonzalez is looking for a sweep. LaVey is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gonzalez throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Gonzalez flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
LaVey tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gonzalez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
LaVey tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
LaVey swinging wilding here.
Gonzalez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Gonzalez scores with a nice right hand.
LaVey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
LaVey slips a jab and a cross from Gonzalez.
LaVey lands with a thumping leg kick.
LaVey throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gonzalez throws out a loose jab but LaVey uses good head movement to avoid it.
LaVey connects with a solid leg kick.
Gonzalez misses with a straight left.
Gonzalez digs a good body shot into LaVey's ribs.
LaVey swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and LaVey takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

LaVey knocks Gonzalez to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?


It looks like Mateo Gonzalez has been cut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
LaVey is looking to take a break and control but Gonzalez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucas LaVey dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mateo Gonzalez's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


LaVey buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Gonzalez closes the distance and clinches up with LaVey, looking for a takedown. Gonzalez pushes LaVey against the cage but LaVey circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gonzalez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but LaVey was well out of range. Poor timing from Gonzalez.
LaVey throws a leg kick but Gonzalez moved away.
Gonzalez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
LaVey lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Lucas LaVey seems to be getting the better of the standup.
LaVey throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Gonzalez takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
LaVey scores with a push kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
LaVey throws a jab but it's blocked by Gonzalez.
LaVey misses with a looping left.
LaVey tries a head kick but it misses.
LaVey looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Mateo Gonzalez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
LaVey throws a nice outside leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for LaVey.
LaVey dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gonzalez. That did some damage!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
LaVey connects with a crisp jab.
LaVey fails with an attempt to clinch.
No luck for Gonzalez with that takedown attempt.

LaVey misses with a hook. Gonzalez ducked under it nicely.
LaVey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
LaVey thumps Gonzalez with a low kick.
An inside leg kick lands from LaVey.
LaVey tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

LaVey connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Gonzalez to the floor! LaVey dives in looking for the finish!


Gonzalez is rocked!

LaVey gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
LaVey buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gonzalez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
LaVey scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Good leg kick by LaVey there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Lucas LaVey is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A thudding body kick lands there by LaVey!
LaVey has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from LaVey, right into the meat.
LaVey takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from LaVey - that will leave a mark!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

LaVey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gonzalez shoots in but LaVey avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mateo Gonzalez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
LaVey lands with a thumping leg kick.
A head kick by LaVey - that's a beauty! Gonzalez is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even LaVey can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Lucas LaVey!
