Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Art Vandelay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viraj Mithani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vandelay comes to the cage accompanied by Street Fighting Man by The Rolling Stones. Art Vandelay has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Art Vandelay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Viraj Mithani! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vandelay misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mithani scores with a hook.
It looks like Art Vandelay has been cut. Mithani is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vandelay. Vandelay wants to clinch up but Mithani keeps it at a distance. Mithani stuffs the takedown. Mithani avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Vandelay counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Mithani throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vandelay fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mithani manages to avoid it. Vandelay throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mithani's waist but Mithani gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vandelay off to one side. Decent striking displayed by Mithani there. Mithani misses with a series of wild punches.
Mithani takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vandelay tries to clinch but Mithani is having none of it. Vandelay lands a two punch combo.
Vandelay throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mithani counters with a lovely straight right hand! Vandelay will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Vandelay looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mithani looks to land a combination but Vandelay avoids it well. Art Vandelay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mithani cracks Vandelay with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mithani, as that shot connected.
Vandelay swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mithani counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vandelay tries for a takedown but Mithani sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Art Vandelay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vandelay shoots in looking for a takedown. Mithani tries to sprawl out of it but Vandelay keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mithani manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mithani lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Art Vandelay's cut is getting worse.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vandelay misses with a takedown attempt - Mithani sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Vandelay with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Mithani to counter with a crisp jab. Vandelay is breathing heavily. Mithani thuds a left hand into Vandelay's body. Mithani moves out of range as Vandelay strikes. Vandelay tries for a takedown but Mithani circles away easily and Mithani counters with a one-two to the body. Mithani fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vandelay looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Mithani drops Vandelay with a left and a right! Oh, Vandelay is hurt - Mithani dives into side control looking to finish!
Art Vandelay's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Mithani takes a little break here. Vandelay wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vandelay is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mithani is staying tight to Vandelay's torso, preventing him from escaping. Vandelay is trying to improve his position. Mithani is looking to take a break and control but Vandelay is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mithani in side control, throwing shots but Vandelay defends. Mithani postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Vandelay tries to improve position but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Vandelay wants to clinch enabling Mithani to counter with a crisp jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mithani swats away the attempt to clinch by Vandelay. Viraj Mithani is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mithani throws a series of punches but Vandelay moves out of range. Mithani stuffs the takedown attempt from Vandelay. Vandelay gets slowly back to his feet. Mithani takes a swing at Vandelay's ribcage but misses. Mithani staying out of range there. Mithani falls off balance throwing a combination
and Vandelay counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Vandelay shoots for a double leg takedown but Mithani sprawls well. He's pushed Vandelay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Vandelay misses with a double jab
and Mithani counters with a left and a right that stings Vandelay. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Viraj Mithani dominated that round. The cut man is working on Art Vandelay's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Art Vandelay's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
