PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Osorolh Darar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Osorolh Darar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, King James!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Chad Campbell and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darar tries to clinch but James moves out of range.
James fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
James fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Darar avoids it really well and circles away.
Darar stuffs the takedown.
Osorolh Darar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King James.
Darar displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from James.
James ducks under a wild hook from Darar.
James shoots in looking for a takedown. Darar tries to sprawl out of it but James keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Darar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

James bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
James misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

James is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Darar has escaped the position, nice work there.
James wants to lay and pray for a moment but Darar keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.

James wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Darar, who protects the arm well.
Darar tries to improve position but can't.

James tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no James has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

James looks gassed!

James thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

James tries for a kimura but Darar is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Darar keeps James under control for a moment.
Darar tries to improve position but can't.
Darar can't do much from the bottom here.

James is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Darar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Darar is looking to reverse the position.
Darar wants to control but James postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Darar swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
James avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Darar has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Darar gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Nice elbow from Darar.
Darar lands a nice elbow.


It looks like King James has been cut.
James takes an elbow to the temple.
James jumps guard but Darar stands there with James around his waist. James gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
James takes an elbow to the forehead.
James takes an elbow to the temple.
James fails to pull the fight into his guard.
James tries to pull guard but Darar holds him up against the cage and eventually James drops back down to his feet.
Darar lands an elbow just above James 's eye.


That has opened up King James's cut even more.
James blocks the elbow strike.
James avoids the elbow strike from Darar, against the cage.
Darar comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Darar looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Darar throws an elbow that misses.
Darar lands an elbow inside that James shrugs off.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Darar.
Darar lands a nice elbow.


The cut above King James's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Darar throws an elbow but it misses.
Darar tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and James avoids it.
Darar lands a damaging elbow.
Darar pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
James avoids the elbow strike from Darar, against the cage.
James tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Darar just stands there and leans against the cage.
Nice elbow from Darar.


King James's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Darar throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
James avoids a wild elbow strike from Darar.
James fails to pull guard.
Darar creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through James's defenses.
James dodges an elbow strike from Darar.
James takes an elbow to the temple.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at King James's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Osorolh Darar!
