Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Tango (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Morten Iversen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morten Iversen is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tony Tango!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Morten Iversen!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iversen tries for a takedown but Tango sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Iversen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tango as he avoids it easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Tango has his takedown stuffed
and Iversen counters with a three punch combo that has Tango backing up. Tango nods at Iversen to acknowledge the strikes.

Tango lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Tango fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Iversen sprawls well initially but Tango persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Tango has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Iversen prevents Tango from moving into mount.
Tango wants to lay and pray for a moment but Iversen keeps working.

Tango wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Iversen, who protects the arm well.

Tango tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tango has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Tango wants to control but Iversen is keeping him busy.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Iversen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Tango stands up and beckons Iversen to his feet.

Iversen doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Tango counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Tony Tango has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Morten Iversen.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Iversen is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Tango is just content to waste time from the top position. Iversen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Tango had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Iversen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tango Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Iversen's back instead.

Iversen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tango swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tango working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Iversen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Iversen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Tango is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Iversen has managed to free his arm - good work.

Morten Iversen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
