Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Son's choice of entrance music: Stranglehold. Damian Son has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Damian Son! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Son circles away from the clinch attempt.
Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Son swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Silva wants to clinch up but Son keeps it at a distance. Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silva is looking to clinch. Silva leaves Son with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Silva is looking to clinch. Son circles away from the clinch attempt.
Son keeps the fight on the outside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Son's waist but Son gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side. Silva is looking to clinch but Son is avoiding it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Son shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one. Antonio Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damian Son. Silva with a poor takedown and Son counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Son slips nicely into half guard. Son is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Son to get the leverage. Son is looking to advance position but Silva won't allow it. Son missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Son escapes and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva wants to clinch but Son slips to the side and Son counters with a takedown into side control. Silva is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Silva stops Son from passing to mount. Son is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Son controls the position. Sloppy strikes there by Son. Son wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Son wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy. Son working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Silva closes the distance looking to clinch so Son counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Son looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Son stands up from guard. Let's bang! Silva darts in trying to clinch and Son counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Silva wants to control but Son postures up. Silva sneaks out the side door and pushes Son away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damian Son dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Silva looks to clinch and Son counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Silva is refusing to be controlled, as Son sits in half guard. Son not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Son stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Silva to get to his feet. Silva misses with a takedown and Son counters with a nice double leg into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Son looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Son advances position into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Son is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Silva knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Son looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Silva is avoiding damage well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Son decides to take the fight back to the feet. Silva closes the distance but Son moves to the side and Son decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard. Son looking to pass the guard. Son pushes down on Silva's leg and manages to get into half guard. Son is looking to advance position but Silva won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Son blocks the strikes from Silva.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Son throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silva works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Son pushing down on Silva's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Son seems to be working for a kimura but Silva defends the submission attempt. Still in half guard, Son seems content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damian Son showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Nice takedown defense from Silva. No joy for Son on that attempt. Antonio Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Son really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Silva looks to clinch and Son counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Son.

Silva controls Son momentarily but Son frees himself. Son throwing strikes from guard but Silva blocks nicely. Silva keeping moving, preventing Son from controlling successfully. Antonio Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Son pushing down on Silva's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Son pulls his head out easily. Son not doing much here.
Damian Son is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Silva is staying active underneath Son, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Son is trying to work for a kimura but Silva is defending well.
Son is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
