Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wilson Gouveia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Lawrence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lawrence has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Matthew Lawrence is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawrence shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gouveia's guard.
Lawrence looks gassed!
Gouveia tries to strike from the bottom.

Gouveia looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lawrence throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gouveia works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gouveia pulls Lawrence in close to prevent any damage.
Lawrence stands up from Gouveia's guard - Lawrence perhaps looking for a knockout.
Gouveia clinches with his opponent.
Gouveia breaks the clinch.
Gouveia looks to score with a jab to the body but Lawrence is just out of range.

Gouveia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lawrence sprawls well initially but Gouveia persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gouveia winds up and cracks Lawrence with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Gouveia lands strikes from half guard.
Gouveia stands up and beckons Lawrence to join him on the feet.
Gouveia closes the distance and clinches.
Gouveia content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Lawrence tries to pull guard but Gouveia won't allow it.
Gouveia using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lawrence has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Gouveia escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gouveia tries a head kick but it misses.
Gouveia shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gouveia was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The referee warns Lawrence that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Lawrence tries to improve his position but instead Gouveia has taken his back!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Lawrence is trying to break free.
Gouveia working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Lawrence is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Gouveia has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Lawrence taps out!
