The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pembelton throws a lazy right hand but Rider sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pembelton shoots in for a takedown but Rider shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Rider shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pembelton napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Pembelton is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Rider pulls his head out easily.

Rider wants to take a breather but Pembelton is having none of it.
Pembelton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rider's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rider's back!

Pembelton doesn't have the hooks in and Rider manages to turn into his guard.
Rider distracts Pembelton with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Rider seems to be working for a kimura but Pembelton defends the submission attempt.

Pembelton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rider is working away from the top position though.
Pembelton tries to roll over but Rider keeps him under control.

Rider perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rider connects with a nice short shot to Pembelton's temple.

Pembelton is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rider rolls with it to try and escape but Pembelton cranks on the arm and Rider is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
