Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Billington!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murray moves in looking to clinch but Billington pushes him off.
Billington slips a jab from Murray.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Horrible takedown by Billington or perhaps it was just good defense by Murray which made him look bad.
Billington fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Billington rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Murray moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The fighters circling - Murray throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Billington goes for a takedown in the clinch but Murray prevents it.
Ross Murray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Billington.

Billington cracks Murray with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Murray tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Murray is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Murray is desperately trying to improve his position but Billington has a good base and remains in mount.
Murray bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Billington can do anything to dispel that myth.

Billington is staying active underneath Murray, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Billington tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Billington is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Murray wanted to stand there but Billington had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Billington looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Billington scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Murray is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Billington pulls his head out easily.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Billington connects with a nice short shot to Murray's temple.
Murray is trying to stand.
Murray is positioning himself well to prevent Billington advancing to mount.
Murray is trying to maintain the position but Billington is very close to passing his half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Billington is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Murray is on top in guard.
Murray works over Billington with some ground and pound from guard.
Murray is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Murray stands up and waves to Billington to follow him.
Billington moves forwards but Murray connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Murray throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Billington uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Murray.
Murray keeps the fight on the outside.
Billington fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Billington tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Billington drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.


Murray is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Billington trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Oh Murray is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Murray keeping full guard, as Billington tries to pass.
Billington working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Murray's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ross Murray will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Billington stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murray swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Billington distracts Murray with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Murray seems to have got his legs back now.

Murray decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Billington, up you get!
