Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Urijah Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Misirlou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Faber comes to the cage accompanied by Face The Pain. Misirlou has chosen Most Precious Blood - Shark Ethic as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faber looks to score with a jab to the body but Misirlou is just out of range.
Faber doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Faber shoots in looking for a takedown. Misirlou tries to sprawl out of it but Faber keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Misirlou manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Faber shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Misirlou is trying to defend but Faber finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Faber not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Misirlou tries to kick Faber off but Faber keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Misirlou makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Misirlou.
Misirlou looking to hit a scissor sweep but Faber is one step ahead there.

Misirlou has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Faber can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Faber trying to control the position from guard on top but Misirlou is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Faber stays in close to Misirlou's body and controls the position.
Misirlou looking for a sweep. Not yet Misirlou, not yet.

Misirlou escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Faber gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Misirlou can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Faber controls the pace.
Misirlou keeping moving, preventing Faber from controlling successfully.
Misirlou is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Faber is controlling him.
Faber trying to control but Misirlou is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Misirlou working for a triangle but Faber defends it easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Faber tries to free his leg and advance position but Misirlou is retaining full guard.
Misirlou is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Misirlou working a defensive guard but Faber passes into half guard.
Faber is looking to take a break and control but Misirlou is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Faber is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Misirlou is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Faber is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Misirlou wants to control but Faber is keeping busy and won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Faber dives in and grabs Misirlou's left leg, looking for a takedown. Misirlou pushes down on Faber's head and hops out.
Misirlou throws a shot to the body.
Faber is breathing heavily.
Misirlou pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Misirlou lands with a cross.
Misirlou lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Faber fails with the takedown.

Misirlou swats away the attempt to clinch by Faber.
Faber looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Misirlou is fending him off so far but Faber persists. Nope, Misirlou circles away and we're back to standing.
Misirlou lands a really nice looking cross but Faber seems unphased.
Faber shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Misirlou as he avoids it easily.

Misirlou closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Urijah Faber has been cut.
Misirlou lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Misirlou throws a low kick but it's checked well by Faber.
Urijah Faber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Faber walks into a jab.

Faber is rocked!
Misirlou is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Faber hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
