Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Mundine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mundine comes to the cage accompanied by Head Bussa - Lil Scrappy. Scott Stevens acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anthony Mundine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Scott Stevens! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevens misses with a head kick.
A head kick misses from Stevens. Nice takedown defense from Mundine. No joy for Stevens on that attempt. Stevens shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mundine pinned against the cage. Mundine gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mundine misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stevens tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mundine paws at him with a jab and circles away. Stevens fails with a takedown attempt. Anthony Mundine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Stevens. Mundine lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stevens circles away quickly and effectively. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mundine misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stevens closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mundine to the mat! Mundine manages to get full guard. Mundine not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stevens has a closed guard, preventing Mundine from standing up. Mundine gets to his feet. Stevens looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Mundine lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stevens circles away quickly and effectively. Mundine will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

No luck for Stevens with that takedown attempt. Stevens shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Mundine tries to hold on but Stevens pushes him away. Stevens looks gassed!

Stevens manages to capitalize on a mistake by Mundine to take his back! Stevens is trying to stick to Mundine's back but Mundine is turning into Stevens. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Stevens's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mundine. Stevens can't keep his opponent in guard - Mundine advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Mundine stands up out of the half guard. Mundine rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stevens moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mundine misses with the combination.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Mundine.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mundine decides to stand back up. Mundine darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Mundine seems to be working for a kimura but Stevens defends the submission attempt. Mundine not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mundine uses his free foot to push down on Stevens's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Stevens.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mundine landing strikes, looking to finish! Mundine trying to control but he's not successful this time. Mundine with the ground and pound from mount. Mundine looking to secure an arm triangle but Stevens defends it well. Mundine in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Anthony Mundine dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mundine tries to bum rush Stevens with a series of wild strikes but Stevens uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Anthony Mundine is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Stevens is breathing heavily. Mundine is putting a hurting on Stevens here, landing some big shots from side control. Mundine stands up and beckons Stevens to his feet. A punch combination from Mundine misses. Mundine misses with the combination.

Mundine scores with a hook. Mundine works over Stevens's head and body with a nice combination. Stevens showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mundine.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mundine throws a nice looking combination but Stevens bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Mundine moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Stevens is rocked! Mundine throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mundine looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mundine scores a takedown into full mount! Mundine with the ground and pound from mount. Stevens is still in real trouble! Can Mundine finish him? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mundine cracks Stevens with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Stevens seems to have recovered his senses. Mundine trying to control but he's not successful this time. Mundine with good strikes from the mount here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mundine pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Stevens keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Anthony Mundine overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Stevens is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Mundine postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Stevens looks a forlorn figure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mundine can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stevens is looking to escape. Mundine landing punches. Mundine in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mundine with shots to the head and body - Stevens looks very uncomfortable down there. Stevens takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Mundine's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
