The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fredriksson shoots in for a takedown but Squires shows good takedown defense.

Fredriksson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Squires knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fredriksson on the ground.

Fredriksson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Squires looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Squires looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Squires!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Fredriksson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Squires has managed to free his arm - good work.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Squires creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Fredriksson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Squires pulls his leg out and moves away.

Fredriksson passes Squires's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Fredriksson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Fredriksson seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Squires is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
