The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
soares looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Gracie fails in his attempt to clinch.

and Gracie counters with a one-two to the body.
Gracie gets a takedown into half guard.
Gracie wants to pass to mount but soares is defending the position.
Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. soares doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.

Gracie is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
soares is looking to control Gracie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can soares avoid being mounted?

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gracie drops an elbow to the side of soares's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! soares could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Gracie has cracked it and soares is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Gracie!
