PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Billy Bonds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TakTak Tinkelbery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, TakTak Tinkelbery!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tinkelbery looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bonds is not content to let Tinkelbery control the position.
Tinkelbery takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Tinkelbery is trying to control the action in half guard but Bonds is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Bonds is trying to control but can't.
Bonds is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tinkelbery is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tinkelbery doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Bonds misses the jab.

Tinkelbery shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bonds napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Bonds is looking for a sweep.

Bonds misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Bonds takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Bonds wants to hold on but Tinkelbery pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tinkelbery unloads with some shots from mount but Bonds bucks and avoids them well.

Bonds is looking to control Tinkelbery's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bonds avoid being mounted?

Tinkelbery content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Tinkelbery's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Bonds is looking to improve his position.

Bonds feints and as Tinkelbery raises his hands in defense, Bonds changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tinkelbery wants to get back to his feet but Bonds is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Tinkelbery has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bonds can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bonds leaves Tinkelbery with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bonds throws a body punch but Tinkelbery moves out of range.
Tinkelbery shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bonds pinned against the cage. Bonds gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Billy Bonds has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of TakTak Tinkelbery.

Tinkelbery takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Tinkelbery is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Tinkelbery has hold of Bonds's hands but Bonds slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Bonds thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Bonds takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Tinkelbery wants to control but Bonds is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Bonds counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bonds is in close to Tinkelbery's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Billy Bonds overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Tinkelbery seems keen to control Bonds's posture.
Bonds wants to pass the guard but Tinkelbery is keeping the position.
Tinkelbery manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

I would just about give that final round to TakTak Tinkelbery.
I think Tinkelbery has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
