Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stig Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rashad Green!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green misses the shot to the body.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Green sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Johnson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Green did well to prevent Johnson getting side control.
Johnson is keen to just control but Green is a slippery customer.

Johnson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Johnson works his way into full mount!
Johnson throwing strikes here but Green is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Johnson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Green has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Green!

Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Green is one step ahead there.
Johnson trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Green must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Green decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Johnson, up you get!
Rashad Green is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Some bone on bone action there as Green checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Green throws out a loose jab but Johnson uses good head movement to avoid it.

Johnson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Johnson passes to full mount!

Johnson fails to take his opponent's back.
Johnson thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Green wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Johnson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Green can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Johnson throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Johnson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Johnson is working for a guillotine from mount but Green frees his head quite easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Johnson goes for an armbar but Green turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Green.

Green has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Johnson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Green is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Johnson pulls down on the head and he's put Green to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Stig Johnson!
